Pastor Stuart was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama and when he finished Homewood High School, he was admitted to the School of Architecture at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.  He graduated with a B.Arch degree in 1978 and worked for an architectural firm in Birmingham.  During this time, he also worked part-time in youth ministry at his home church, Wilson Chapel UMC in Birmingham.  He completed the requirements for registration as an Architect in the state of Alabama in 1981 and maintains his license as an architect but only dabbles in it occasionally now.  Somewhere in that period of employment, he was called into full-time pastoral ministry and was admitted to Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY.  While in seminary, he served a pastoral appointment near Corinth, Kentucky in the Kentucky Conference of the United Methodist Church.  He received his M.DIv degree in 1985 and was ordained an elder in the North Alabama Conference in 1987.  Pastor Stuart has served in UM churches in Talladega and Florence AL, Townsend, Maryville, Jefferson City and Blountville, TN and has been the pastor of Trinity since June, 2012.  He has been married to Elizabeth (Libby) since 1985 and they have two daughters, Elizabeth, a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee and Rachel, a second year student at the University of Tennessee.  The family also have two cats, Oliver and Mollie, and Mollie just happens to be a big orange cat!

Administrative Assistant

Donna Lowery

Donna has been on staff as the Administrative Assistant for eight years.  She is a native of Greene County and lives in Mosheim.  Donna is an active member of Hartman’s Chapel UM Church. She is married to Ron Lowery and has two daughters- Hannah Mae, who is a 2015 graduate from Dental Hygiene School at Hiwassee College in Madisonville, TN and a 2016 graduate of ETSU and Madison Grace, who is a 2017 graduate of Greeneville High School and is a Freshman at Walters State.

Music Director

Angee Woody

Angee joined the staff of Trinity as the Music Director in February 2018. She teaches music in the Washington County School System, teaches voice and piano in private lessons and is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and Tusculum College.  She has worked in the area of music ministry on the local church level as well as with the Holston Conference with stops along the way at Asbury UMC in Greeneville, First UMC in Alcoa, Church Street UMC in Knoxville and West Emory Presbyterian Church in Knoxville. Angee lives in Greeneville with her husband David (a UMC pastor) and daughters Rachel, a student at Westminster Choir College, and Laura, a junior at Greeneville High School.

Youth Ministries Director

Tyler Neas

Tyler joined the staff of Trinity as the Youth director in September, 2017. 


Josh Bolling

Josh is originally from Pound, Virginia where he graduated Pound High School in 1995.  He completed a B.M. in Music Education at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee in May 2000 and began teaching general music at Mosheim Elementary School in the fall of that same year where he continues teaching music to students from kindergarten to eighth grade.

Josh began serving the Lord through music singing in the choir, playing the piano, and playing the organ at Pound United Methodist Church.  After attending Trinity United Methodist Church and serving as a member of the Chancel Choir, he became the organist in August 2003.  Josh has served Trinity faithfully as organist, pianist, member of the Chancel Choir, and euphonium soloist.  He has enjoyed using his talents to serve the Lord and intends to continue this service.

For recreation he enjoys playing golf, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and vacationing at the beach.


Carrie Carpenter

Carrie joined the musical staff of Trinity in June, 2016.  She is originally from Kingsport, Tennessee where she graduated from Sullivan North High School in 2001. She completed her B.A. in Mass Communications at ETSU in 2005 and obtained an M.Ed. in School Library Media in 2007.

Carrie and her husband Todd currently reside in Kingsport with two daughters, Ellie and Anna, and Rudy, a dog who is really just a cuddly scaredy cat! Carrie is currently the librarian and assistant choral director at Volunteer High School, where she LOVES her job!

In her spare time, Carrie loves the beach, all things crafty, and a good dose of Netflix!
