Buel D. Brooks established a Trust under his Will for the benefit of the children and youth of Greene County. A portion of the Trust is managed by Trinity United Methodist Church. Each year, Trinity’s Brooks Bequest Committee awards grants for special projects that benefit Greene County’s children and youth, and awards approximately twelve college scholarships in the amount of $3,000.00 each.  Any ministry or organization that does work to benefit children and youth of Greene County is invited to apply for a grant and any Greene County student attending college is invited to apply for a scholarship.

Information about applying for the 2024-2025 Brooks Scholarship

Instructions: This is important. Read the instructions first! If you fail to comply with all instructions, you may end up having your application disallowed. You can view and download the Instructions by clicking here. 

Application: We strongly recommend that after you read the Instructions, that you download the Application and save it to your computer. The Application is a pdf document in which you can type (and save) your answers. But some browsers (Opera for example) will not allow you to type anything when the document is open in the browser. If that happens, be sure to save the Application to your computer and then begin filling out the Application. You can view the 2024-2025 Application by clicking here.

Be sure you are using the most up-to-date version of Adobe Reader or a similar program.

As explained in the Instructions and on the Application, after you type in all required information, you must print out the Application, add all required signatures, check all required boxes, and then mail or hand deliver a hard copy of the Application to Trinity's Church Office by the deadline set forth in the Instructions. You do not submit your Application online.

When you are working on your Application, you may not finish it in one sitting. This is another reason to start the process by saving the Application to your computer. Be sure to save it to your Desktop or some other location where you can easily find the Application when you are ready to work on it again.
